The Year of the Rat

Since this is the Year of the Rat in the Chinese Zodiac calendar, we are thinking up special events to honor our "desert rats" as well as our domestic rat pets. Along with other festivities, we have some of Diane Nott's lovely hand-knitted rats (right) to raffle and auction off.

Photo Contest

Can't come to the show in person? Send in a photo of your gerbil and we'll let the visiting public choose a winner! Email your photo to Diane N. to be included in a day of show display!

Silent Auction & Raffle

Senior Class

Gerbils age 2-½ or older may compete in their own class against other Seniors. This is a return of a Show Class that has not been used in some time. A great chance to finish up an older animal for show points! See the Show Classes page for more information.

Gerbil Olympics - GerbilTrack Races!

In addition to our ever-popular Chewing Contest, Gerb-letes will be invited to race against each other in timed heats using a HamTrak raceway. Coordinators: AGS Youth

First Prize: hand-knitted rat, gerbil, or mouse Second and Third place: ribbons.

Exotic Animals

Don White of Granite State Gliders will be back this year with his adorable animals and will give a presentation on gliders and their care.
